AUGUST 2008
SLED Unveils Improved SC Information and Intelligence Center |
SLED recently held a news conference to demonstrate its Information and Intelligence Center to reporters and interested citizens.
The Center was established in July 2004 to provide an intelligence-gathering center where law enforcement could collaborate with public and private partners for the purpose of suppressing crime. SCDPPPS opened its GPS Operations Center (GOC) there in 2007.
The SCIIC provides operation resources for public safety partners statewide 24 hours a day by performing record checks, database searches and analytical services. The SCDPPPS GOC monitors sex offenders and others on satellite tracking devices 24/7, and responds to inquiries from other law enforcement agencies about active offenders.
Joined by SLED Chief Reggie Lloyd, SCDPPPS Director Sam Glover addresses the media and assembled law enforcement officials at the unveiling of the improved SC Information and Intelligence Center..

Rebecca Raybon, Program Coordinator for GPS and Sex Offender Management, tracks a sex offender on a computer monitor at the SCIIC. SCDPPPS uses GPS technology to track approximately 200 sex offenders throughout the state 24 hours a day.
