| The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services uses digital cameras, scanners, and personal computers to capture high-quality, color images of offenders. This information can then be easily shared with SLED and local law enforcement agencies throughout the State.
This technology has numerous benefits for agents, law enforcement, and the community as a whole:
- Images can be easily updated as offenders' appearances change.
- Images can be e-mailed directly from our database – along with critical demographic and offense data attached – anywhere in the state or nation.
- Providing current images enhances the safety of agents during the service of warrants, and aids in the extradition of wanted offenders.
