| The Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services has created a 20-member Victims Advisory Council made up of victims and victim service providers from throughout the state. It performs two critical roles:
Education. The council works to increase awareness and understanding of issues that are important to the public, ranging from services that are available to how the justice system and parole/probation process works.
Outreach. Just as important, it strengthens the connection between the Department and the victims' community. This provides a free flow of information that helps us enhance our services and assures that they remain both relevant and responsive to victims. |
