The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services (SCDPPPS) has received funding through a grant from the Office for Victims of Crime, U.S. Department of Justice to promote community awareness of crime victims’ rights and services. In recognition National Crime Victims' Rights Week, SCDPPPS will host a series of Victims and Community Awareness Fairs across South Carolina. The events will take place during the week of April 10 - 16, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., and are free and are open to the general public. This collaborative effort with victim services providers and advocates from throughout the state. This year’s theme—“Serving Victims. Building Trust. Restoring Hope.”—underscores the importance of early intervention and victim services in establishing trust with victims, which in turn begins to restore their hope for healing and recovery.
